A true painter in the Dutch tradition. You recognise the influence of Rembrandt and Frans Hals, but also of Manet, Bonnard and Freud.
Art as it was taught for centuries. No more abstract and minimal art but ‘after nature’.
In todays art vocabulary: ‘The New Leipzig School’.
His favorite subjects are found in daily life, like his atelier, bedroom, kitchen and in life drawing: portraits and nudes. The style is loose and direct. He touches the light.

Besides painting Edwin makes collages, in a surrealist style and with a thought of ‘Don’t take it all to serious’.
Is there anything to understand, or shall we just live our lives? Breath, eat, sleep, paint. From one thing comes the other and so on.
